National Theatre: The Lehman Trilogy – Encore Screening

There will be an encore screening of Stefano Massini’s  The Lehman Trilogy  recorded in 2019 at the Piccadilly Theatre on Thursday 13th February at 7.00pm.

The story of a family and a company that changed the world, told in three parts on a single evening.

Academy Award-winner Sam Mendes (Skyfall, The Ferryman) directs Simon Russell Beale, Adam Godley and Ben Miles who play the Lehman Brothers, their sons and grandsons.

On a cold September morning in 1844 a young man from Bavaria stands on a New York dockside. Dreaming of a new life in the new world. He is joined by his two brothers and an American epic begins.

163 years later, the firm they establish – Lehman Brothers – spectacularly collapses into bankruptcy, and triggers the largest financial crisis in history.

This critically acclaimed and five-time Olivier Award nominated play features stunning set design from Es Devlin (NT Live: Hamlet)

King Lear – National Theatre

King LearWe will be showing Sam Mendes’ production of King Lear live from the National Theatre, London on Thursday 1st May 2014. This performance is sold out and an encore will be screened on Thursday May 8th 2014.

Academy Award® winner Sam Mendes (James Bond: Skyfall, American Beauty) returns to the National Theatre to direct Simon Russell Beale (Timon of AthensCollaborators) in the title role of Shakespeare’s tragedy. An aged king decides to divide his kingdom between his three daughters, according to which of them is most eloquent in praising him. His favourite, Cordelia, says nothing. Lear’s world descends into chaos.

Running time: 210 minutes (including interval)
