Bringing digital cinema and theatre to the heart of the Peak District

Globe Theatre: King Lear

We will be showing Shakespeare’s King Lear live from The Globe Theatre on Thursday 21st September at 7.30pm.

King Lear has three daughters, but no sons. Boldly he makes a decision to divide his kingdom among his children, but fails to anticipate the consequences of his actions. His generosity is cruelly repaid and Lear finds himself adrift, wandering homeless and destitute. As he comes to realize the false values by which he has lived, he finally encounters his own humanity.

Broadcast live from the iconic Shakespeare’s GlobeTheatre, this brand new retelling of one of the Bard’s greatest plays will capture your heart.

Directed by Nancy Meckler with Kevin McNally as Lear and Anjana Vasan as Cordelia.

Doors open 30 minutes before the performance commences. Please arrive in plenty of time to register and, if you wish, order interval drinks.
