Double Bill & Meal – Trapeze & The Greatest Showman
It’s circus time!
Our first film is Trapeze (1956). A crippled circus acrobat, (Burt Lancaster), only the sixth person to accomplish the triple somersault, is torn emotionally between two ambitious young trapeze artists. One is a talented American (Tony Curtis) and the other is a less gifted but beautiful Italian (Gina Lollobrigida). Tensions rise as a love triangle forms.
After our meal we will see the highly acclaimed musical drama The Greatest Showman (2017).
Starring Hugh Jackman as PT Barnum, the film traces the ambition and genius of this extraordinary man – beginning with nothing but on a mission for fame, which he achieved with the launch of the now world famous Barnum Circus with its unique and daring acts. But will he lose sight of the most important aspect of his life, his family, and risk all to be accepted.
