Puccini’s Turandot is one of the greatest operas ever written: brilliant melodies for music-lovers, a gripping story for those that need action and drama, an exotic setting and plenty of movement for lovers of stagecraft and visual splendor.
This production was created especially for the acclaimed Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour’s jaw-dropping outdoor water-stage performance, including a 25-meter dragon and a 20-meter pagoda, and its use of contemporary cinema and Chinese acrobatics.
The production features a cast of world-class singers, including Dragana Radakovic as Turandot and Riccardo Massi as Calaf, and is known for its powerful rendition of “Nessun Dorma”.
Sung in Italian with English subtitles.
