Stone Of Stone

In the fictional, sleepy village of Stone, where ‘change’ and the modern world are alien concepts to its residents, the daily village goings-on are derailed by an existential threat that will require the community to pull together and risk it all if it wants to survive. With local jobs drying up, fewer and fewer children in the school and even newcomers to contend with, can Jack and his unlikely crew pull something off to keep the soul of the village alive and stop Stone becoming a holiday-let ghost town?

In the very real village of Edale, a similarly unlikely group of residents came together to create a feature length fiction film. Stone of Stone, written by Mark Wallington and directed by Alec Boyd is the result of four years of community effort from nearly 100 non-professionals in the world of filmmaking. Having premiered to the village in the spring and then premiering again publicly at the Buxton Festival Fringe where it won an excellence award, Stone of Stone now embarks on its first local screening tour.
