In 1965 as part of the civil rights movement in the USA, thousands gathered to march from Selma to Montgomery in support of voting rights, led by Martin Luther King. Selma chronicles King’s three month campaign in this powerful and moving re-enactment of a pivotal moment in American history. King is superbly played by David Oyelowo, with Tom Wilkinson in the role of President Lyndon B Johnson.
