May Double Bill & Meal

Our third double bill of the season has an African theme.

We start the afternoon with Abderrahmane Sissako’s Timbuktu, a gritty drama based on the forceful takeover of Mali in 2012. Kidane is a cattle herder who lives with his family in the dunes of Timbuktu. Their quiet lives are disrupted by the Jihadists who rule the area with an iron fist. Starring Ibrhim Ahmed.

After the meal our second film is A United Kingdom which celebrates the real-life romance of Seretse Khama, King of Bechuanaland, and Ruth Williams, a London office worker. They faced fierce opposition from their families and the British and South African governments. Starring David Oyelowo and Rosamund Pike.

We are now taking bookings from members, any remaining places will be made available to non-members shortly. The booking form and menu is available here
