The Hunt for Red October is a political thriller that tracks Soviet submarine captain Marko Ramius (Sean Connery) as he abandons his orders and heads for the east coast of the United States. Equipped with innovative stealth technology, Ramius’ submarine, “Red October,” is virtually invisible. However, when an American sub briefly detects the Russians’ presence, CIA agent Jack Ryan (Alec Baldwin) sets out to determine Ramius’ motives, fearing he may launch an attack on the U.S. Sam Neill plays the submarine executive officer Borodin.
Hunt For the Wilderpeople follows our meal as we travel to New Zealand for a different sort of hunt. We meet Ricky, a troubled teenager who goes on the run from child protective services in the New Zealand bush. Reluctantly joining Ricky is his surly foster uncle Hector (Sam Neill) who is forced to bond with Ricky while trying to find ways for them to survive in the wilderness. Eventually, a nationwide manhunt is launched by the police to swiftly bring the two of them to justice. A heartwarming family film with humour and wonderful scenery.
