Northern Ireland and Scotland are the settings for this special event to launch the new season.
First on the menu is the Oscar winning 2021 Belfast, written and directed by Kenneth Branagh, semi-autobiographical and thought to be one of his best films. The story follows a young boy’s childhood amidst the Troubles of the late 1960s, as he tries to make sense of the sectarian conflict erupting around him.
After our meal we are in Scotland for the delightful 1983 film Local Hero.
An American Oil Company has plans for a new refinery and wants to buy up an entire village. Some locals are thrilled at the thought of the ‘silver dollar’, but things don’t go as expected. Used to his sophisticated Houston office, when Mac arrives to sort things out he is forced to negotiate on very different terms with local hermit and beach scavenger Ben Knox.
Doors open 30 minutes before the performance commences.
Please arrive in plenty of time to register and, if you wish, order interval drinks.
